About the race
Ellisras 360 flies from the Mogol river valley near Lephalale in Limpopo, not far from where the Mogol meets the Limpopo river. The name comes from the area's near year-round summer, and from training flights in every direction around the loft.

For the 2027 season, loft training starts on 19 April and the race programme builds from late May to longer races from Vryburg, Taung, Hartswater and Kuruman. The final, "Bielie van die Bosveld", is flown from Kathu, about 650 km, on 14 August 2027.
Fanciers can enter for prize money and bragging rights at R1,800 per pigeon, or for bragging rights only at R700 per pigeon, with four to ten pigeons per entry. The final pays R70,000 to the winner, and there are cash prizes for the long races and short, middle and long distance categories.
